What Is Seeking Real Truth Ministries?

Truth is generally something we do not really want to hear. If you are a person being obnoxious about something, and someone admonishes you to stop, and expresses the truth to you, you typically feel hurt. When you sin, and your sin is brought to your attention, you feel a pain in your heart. The message of truth can be a source of great personal emotional pain. That pain we feel in our heart when we become aware of our sin is called conviction. Be aware that there is a difference between conviction and condemnation. Conviction causes us to repent of our sin. Condemnation tells us that we are going to hell regardless of our repentance.

In Hebrews 4:12-13, we find verses that clearly tell us what affect the truth of God can have on us:

12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

So, why do I equate God's word with truth? John 17:17 clearly tells me I can do this:

Santify them by the truth; your word is truth.

We clearly see that God's word is truth, and it is living and active. Therefore the truth is sharper than any double-edged sword.

There are many false doctrines and teachings propagated throughout the Christian church today. Even many churches teach that doctrine is not important. Many of these teachings are leading those who profess faith in Christ Jesus to believe a gospel other than that which was taught to us through the written word of God (2 Corinthians 11:4, Galatians 1). Yet when we are confronted with the truth, we tend to refuse it in favor of the ‘feel good’ nature of most teachings.

In Romans 16:17-18, Paul warns about false teachers and false prophets.

I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

There are so many passages in the bible warning of false prophets and teachers. Many of them are listed in the first mission statement of Seeking Real Truth Ministries.

Seeking Real Truth Ministries is being formed for the purpose of teaching the truth of God as found in his scriptures. We will not compromise truth in favor of our need to ‘feel good’ emotionally. Instead, we teach the truth of God for the purpose of enabling Christians to access the power of the Holy Spirit to put us on a path of obedience to the true will of God in our lives, and to teach what living by faith really means.

We will not be swayed by anyone to cease and desist unless they are providing full scriptural proof that what we are doing is not in line with God's word. For we do not seek man's approval, but only to serve Christ (see Galatians 1:10). Your job is to be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 with respect to what we are teaching on this site.

The first series of articles I will be writing for this site will be on doctrines. In them I will describe what doctrine is, why it is important to follow sound doctrine, and give specific examples of common teachings in churches that are contrary to the sound doctrines we learned through Jesus Christ's life and teachings, as well as what his inspired apostles wrote about the doctrines. I will be introducing specific doctrines in separate articles. The goal is in the next few months to provide a full range of articles discussing as many of the important doctrines of the Holy Scriptures as we are able to digest. So keep coming back for more information as it becomes available. If the information is not coming as fast as you would like it to be posted on this site, then help support the ministry so Mark John can devote his full time solely to the work of this ministry, for Jesus said in Matthew 10:10 "for the worker is worth his keep."

Our goal in publishing these articles is to get you to think more about what you believe, and to learn to believe BY FAITH, and not to rely on your own understanding of things, as there will be some things that simply cannot be fully explained in human terms, for all of the mysteries of God have not yet been fully revealed.
